Well this week has to be one of my hardest weeks here at York. I have back to back to back midterms followed by more midterms and assignments. I’ve been multitasking between Operating Systems, Theory Of Computation, and Logic, trying to remember as much as I possibly can. I just want the madness all to end, but at the same time I enjoy the stuff I’m learning so I guess it’s not all that bad. Hopefully I will be making some more posts on there in the next couple of weeks as things settle down a little bit. I can’t believe this semester is almost over and I’ll be writting exams again, but hey that also means that summer is on its way
Back to studying …

Well when you are taking as many math courses as I am you start to go a little crazy. We were working on a proof in my logic course and my teacher told us this one, and for some reason I thought it was one of the funnier math jokes I’ve heard in awhile.
When doing a bullet proof of weakening we can experience the joys of immaculate conception. If you have never seen the proof you might not understand, we are trying to proove that A proves A v B, and in order to do so we must create a new something from nothing. If this doesn’t describe immaculate conception I don’t know what does.
Although now that I’ve type this out I don’t think anyone is going to find this funny, but I did! Maybe it’s a sign that my mind is beginning to warp under the pressure of midterms.
Anyway back to studying … and counting the days

Well recently I’ve started to play with Rails, no not the one that you put trains on the Ruby Framework for developing web applications. I’ve been following along with some books, and I cannot believe how amazingly quick you can create robust well defined web applications. Had I been familiar with this more I would have done most of the Yellow Pages Stuff in it and been done in half the time.
Speaking of Yellow Pages, I went for a meeting this week, and I have a job there for me this summer which will start after my first semester of summer school in late June. It should be fun going back to work for them, they were really great to me last year and I really enjoyed my time there. Plus it’s good to keep networking within their organization since I have an interest to work for their IT department after graduation.
Also I’m taking summer school, like I mentioned above to try and finish faster. From May to June I’m taking a hummanities course in popular culture, from June to August it’s integral calculus, and for the whole summer 1 night a week it’s Computational Set Theory YAY
Let’s just get this semester over with and I’ll start worrying about the next one.

Well yesterday I wrote my last physics test of the year before our final. Went fairly well I think, a lot of people complained about having some calculus on it since it’s supposed to be a non calc based course, but meh I think I answered those questions right.
Now all I have to do is write my calculus test and I’m going to be one very happy man.
I’ve been working on some more projects for clients. I installed visual studio 2005 and all I can say is that Microsoft has done a great job improving .Net, especially the localization aspect of it. However that being said the IDE has gotten even more bloated, even on my machine with 1gig of ram I notice it being somewhat sluggish. Other then that I’ve really enjoyed working with the new components, like the Background Worker, which makes creating multithreaded applications a lot simpler then before.
Anyway just a little update on what’s going on, t-minus 31 days till christmas
YAY!

Well, this week is definetly going to be killer to say the least. I have a physics midterm, calculus midterm, physics lab, Yellow Pages stuff to do and everything.
Sigh, I wish for the days when things were a lot simpler, University is so boring right now, no computer science courses makes life sucky, especially when all you do is math and sciences courses.
I’ve been gearing up for the holiday season, I wound up buying once of those USB snowman
I love it, since it’s the only decoration in my room. There’s nothing like having a glowing snowman that sings to you when you are studying.
